Heartbreaking: NFL Player’s Daughter Dies in Tragic Household Accident

Everything about this situation is beyond tragic and heartbreaking.

On Tuesday, former Philadelphia Eagles running back Reno Mahe’s three-year-old daughter Elise Mahe was pronounced brain dead a week after she accidentally strangled herself with the cord from a window’s mini blind.

According to Reno and Elise’s mom, Sunny Mahe, the little girl was playing with a friend when the shocking incident occurred. While Sunny tried to perform CPR until paramedics arrived, there wasn’t much doctors could do following the extensive damage to her brain.

In Mr. Mahe’s emotional post to Instagram, he went on to explain how Elise was “released to heaven” after being declared officially brain dead. The parents are now meeting with professionals to discuss organ donation.
