Now, Senator John McCain has seen a lot in his day — but he's not exactly overlooking the dangers Donald Trump is posing to America, and our First Amendment, and the freedom of the press.

Speaking to host Chuck Todd on NBC's Meet The Press today, Senator McCain didn't hold back in calling out that terrible Trump tweet about the press becoming the enemy of the American people. You remember that tweet Trump sent yesterday, right? It's this one (below):

McCain laid it all out there about Trump's dictatorial tendencies, too, with the Arizona Senator saying to Todd:

"I am afraid that we would lose so much of our individual liberties over time [without a free press]. That's how dictators get started … When you look at history, the first thing that dictators do is shut down the press. And I'm not saying that President Trump is trying to be a dictator. I'm just saying we need to learn the lessons of history."
