Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke is one of a slew of Donald Trump allies who had his Twitter account hacked by an entity claiming to be Turkish hackers.
The same hackers accessed Twitter accounts belonging to frequent Fox News guests and contributors, Mediaite reported.
On Saturday, they took over the Twitter account of Dore Gold, a former aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Times of Israel reported.
“Jerusalem can not be the capital of Israel! Because Jerusalem is holy to Muslims and is the land of Palestine,” the group wrote in a separate tweet, referring to U.S. President Donald Trump’s Dec. 6 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.
The hackers also said “the Turkish – Islamic Union will soon be established,” but it was not clear what that meant.
Clarke’s account appears to be back to normal now, but earlier this afternoon, his page still reflected the statements posted by the hackers, including his pinned tweet, which read, “Your account is hacked by the Turkish cyber army AYYILDIZ TIM! Your DM correspondence has been captured and interesting information has been reached! Turks are everywhere!”
