For The Children
Actor Matthew McConaughey, who has been teasing a gubernatorial run in Texas, spoke out against mandating the COVID-19 vaccine for children.
“I couldn’t mandate having to vaccinate the younger kids,” he said. “I still want to find out more information. … There will come a time where you’re going to have to roll the dice one way or the other and go: ‘Where are the numbers in my favor?’”
He doesn’t believe the vaccine is “scam or conspiracy theory,” as he and his wife are vaccinated, but the Oscar winner is against inoculating his children “right now.”
The “Magic Mike” star also spoke out about the Texas fetal heartbeat abortion law, which he called an “overly aggressive” measure.
“It doesn’t doesn’t seem to open up the room for a sensible choice to be made at the right time,” he remarked. “I believe in this: more responsibility, more personal responsibility to make the right choices. And we got to pick context with each situation, and each person’s situation, each woman’s situation.”
Booster
The NBA announced on Sunday that players and staff who have received the Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine must get a booster shot by Dec. 1, or be subjected to game-day testing.
They are currently considering extending the requirements to players who have received the Pfizer and Moderna shots, reportedly based on data that alleges that antibodies decrease in recipients after six months.
Those who got the J&J jab allegedly experience reduced antibodies after only two months. Currently 97% of the league’s players are reportedly vaccinated.

Bulletproof
Pop star Lady Gaga revealed that the dress she wore to president Biden’s inauguration was more than just a fashion statement.
“I wore this Schiaparelli design for the inauguration and nobody knows this, but this is a bulletproof dress,” the singer said.
She blamed Trump for donning kevlar under the fitted jacket and billowing red skirt. “Like many people in America, I felt a deep fear when Trump was president, and ushering 45 out and 46 in is something I’ll be able to tell my children all about. Singing in a Schiaparelli bulletproof dress.”
The “Rain On Me” singer added that she would have been a combat journalist if she wasn’t a performer, and the gown was one of “my favorite things that I’ve ever worn.”
Fined
Aaron Rodgers said “hate isn’t going to end the pandemic,” in his second interview with Pat McAfee, but did apologise for the remarks he made to the media in August about being “immunized” against COVID-19.
“I misled some people about my status, which I take full responsibility for those comments,” he told the show’s host on Tuesday. “In the end I have to stay true to who I am, and I stand behind the things I said.”
Rodgers admitted that the uproar over his vaccination status has tested his “feelings,” and that he’s only “human.”
“Stuff can hurt your feelings. Look, I shared a polarizing opinion… There’s going to be people that don’t like you, hate you for what you’ve said… and that’s fine,” he continued. “I believe people are entitled to their opinion, even if it’s not an opinion that’s favorable to me.”
“I’m an athlete, I’m not an activist,” Rodgers concluded. “(My vaccine belief) wasn’t one that was come to frivolously, it came from a lot of stuff. Further comments I’m going to keep between myself and my doctors. I don’t have further comments about anything after this interview.”
The NFL fined Rodgers and fellow unvaxxed Green Bay Packer receiver Allen Lazard $14,650 for attending a team Halloween party, which violated the league’s rule that prevents unvaccinated players from gathering in groups larger than three people.
The team was also fined $300,000 for failing to report their attendance at the party, and allowing Rodgers to speak at press conferences without wearing a mask.
