Breaking: NFL Gives 3 Players Indefinite Suspensions for Betting on Games

The National Football League (NFL) announced on Thursday that Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry, players from the Indianapolis Colts, along with free agent Demetrius Taylor, have been handed indefinite suspensions for violating the league’s gambling rules. In an official statement released yesterday, the NFL stated that their suspensions were a result of their participation in betting on NFL games throughout the 2022 seasons.

In addition, Nicholas Petit-Frere, an offensive tackle for the Tennessee Titans, has been suspended for six games for engaging in betting activities on “non-NFL sports at the club facility.”

These suspensions follow the recent bans imposed on wide receivers Jameson Williams, Stanley Berryhill, and Quintez Cephus, as well as safety C.J. Moore of the Lions, and Washington Commanders defensive end Shaka Toney, all of whom violated the league’s gambling regulations.

Last year, a former Atlanta Falcons wide receiver who is currently with the Jacksonville Jaguars received a year-long ban for betting on NFL games, despite not being an active player in 2021.
