Fox News “The Five” co-host Greg Gutfeld claimed that MSNBC anchor Joy Reid has job protection, because the network is “terrified” she’ll call them “racist.”
On Wednesday, Gutfeld said that Reid “built a foolproof” job protection plan by calling everyone racist, and MSNBC is afraid if they let her go, she’ll run her “scam” on them.
“Joy Reid has built a foolproof career insurance plan. She has MSNBC so terrified that they can’t fire her because she’s just gonna call them racist, too. She calls everybody racist, and that’s her game, and that’s her scam,” Gutfeld explained. “And the MSNBC management are cowards for letting her do this, but that’s what they chose to do.”
Gutfeld’s commentary came after he called Reid out on Twitter on Tuesday, after she claimed that conservatives enjoy “being able to harass people” on the social platform.
“They want to come in and be able to punch people in the face and walk around and laugh about it and then not have anyone be able to stop them,” Reid said on her show Tuesday. “The enjoyment they get out of being in this ‘town square’ is being able to harass people, being able to attack people.”
She also claimed that Elon Musk, who recently purchased Twitter and wants to bring “free speech” back to the platform, must miss “the old South Africa in the 80s.” Adding, “He wants that back.”
Gutfeld objected to Reid’s remarks with a snarky tweet on Tuesday. “The ghouls saying Musk is pro-hate speech, always fling the hate first. lesson: they can call you an evil racist; but fight back? thats labeled hate speech. How joy reid remains employed is a tribute to her boss’s cowardice,” he wrote.
On the Wednesday episode of “The Five,” Gutfeld continued to lash out. “I can’t love a story more than this story. It’s like we got a free election result, in which we won and we get to see all the people who dislike us … break down in public,” he remarked. “It really is like 2016, except instead of Trump winning, the First Amendment won.”
