Controversial comedian Bill Burr stuck it to feminists for not supporitng women’s sports leagues.
In his recent Netflix special, “Bill Burr: Live at Red Rocks” the comedian took aim at women for refusing to show up at women’s games with the enthusiasm that men attend professional sports.
“Where are all the feminists?” he questioned according to BroBible. “That place should be packed with feminists — faces painted, wearing jerseys, going f***ing nuts like the guys do! … None of you went to the f***ing games.”
He claimed that women’s sports don’t sell seats because women don’t support female athletes. “You’re playing in a 20,000-seat arena — 1,500 people show up. That’s not a good night! The promoter lost his f—ing ass on that gig,” he criticized.
“Look at the WNBA: they have been playing in front of 300 to 400 people a night for a quarter of a century. Not to mention, it’s a male-subsidized league. We gave you a league and none of you showed up,” Burr snarked.
He noted that female-centric reality shows like “Real Housewives” and “The Kardashians” are “making billions” because women would rather watch “a bunch of women tearing each other down” than an actual sporting event.
“That’s the message you send: we’d rather watch that than a bunch of women come together as a team and try to achieve a common goal,” he asserted. “We’d rather watch them absolutely f—ing destroy each other! And then in the end, you come back and you yell at f—ing guys.”
Burr recently went after the NBA during this year’s playoffs, alleging that the end of season is “massaged to be exciting.”
“I also think the NBA is also low-key rigged,” he told Jimmy Kimmel during a recent appearance. “Why does that surprise any NBA fan? I don’t know how many times you can watch a game, a team goes up by 20, then all of a sudden ticky-tack foul, all of the sudden they’re in the penalty. The [ref’s] job’s to get down to about 5 to 7 at halftime.”
“You watch the first quarter, they let the teams play. Second-quarter belongs to the refs from the half of the third quarter on. I’ve said it is rigged forever,” he continued. “It’s massaged to be exciting. The refs just have way too much power.”
