Woman Held Captive Escapes Husband After Leaving Note on UPS Package

Thank goodness for UPS!

On Tuesday, a woman was freed from her abusive husband, who held her captive in their Missouri home, after a UPS driver saw an urgent note she had scribbled on a scheduled package pick up.

According to reports, the woman was being held captive by her husband James Tyler Jordan (pictured above), who forced her to strip down before beating and sexually assaulting her.

The woman alleges Jordan held a gun to her head and threatened to kill them both — all while their 3-year-old child was locked in the bedroom without food or water for 15 hours.

It’s unclear what sparked the violent episode, though authorities say it could have ended catastrophically if it wasn’t for a knock at the door from a deliveryman. Around noon on Tuesday, the UPS driver came to the door to pick up a package as Jordan reportedly stood behind his wife with a gun to her back. She somehow managed to scrawl a plea for help during the interaction, writing, “Contact 911.”
