“Swine” has garnered attention for its provocative and unsettling nature. The song is widely regarded as reflective of certain concerns within contemporary culture. Lovato appears determined to prioritize hedonistic pursuits and embrace a lifestyle characterized by casual sexual encounters in the hookup culture era. Additionally, she seems to advocate for the option of abortion in cases where unprotected sex results in an unintended pregnancy.

Following the release of “Swine,” Lovato stated:
“I created ‘Swine’ to amplify the voices of those who advocate for choice and bodily autonomy. I want this song to empower not only the birthing people of this country, but everyone who stands up for equality, to embrace their agency and fight for a world where every person’s right to make decisions about their own body is honored.”
This particular political perspective can be easily refuted with minimal effort. Firstly, the use of the term “birthing people” undermines the speaker’s credibility, as it is cringe-worthy and lacks clarity. Additionally, the speaker’s hypocritical approach to advocating for honoring “every person’s” body becomes evident when she conveniently disregards the value of the fetus’s life, which aligns with Lovato’s position. However, the most significant flaw in her statement is the call for “equality” while neglecting the rights of fetuses, which deserve equal consideration. Lovato’s failure to address this aspect exposes the shallowness of her worldview.
Ironically, Lovato has expressed views on having children in the past. However, it seems that her perspective is incredibly self-centered and lacking depth, as she only considers how having children might bring personal happiness, disregarding the well-being and value of the child’s life.
In 2022, Lovato stated:
“My bucket list doesn’t include things like jumping out of a plane ’cause I’ve already done that,” she said. “Things like having a family is really important to me…It’s the substance of life.”
“I’ve been through a lot, you know, and I’m really proud of myself. And sometimes I look in the mirror and I just say, ‘I am so proud of you. You’re doing great and I love you.’”
