Howard Stern Takes Aim At Republicans Over The End Of Mask Mandates

Mask mandates nationwide are being rolled back as COVID-19 restrictions ease, but radio shock jock Howard Stern blames the GOP for letting it happen, “the wackos are winning.”

“You’ve got all these wackos with their anti-mask, anti-vaccine, the reason they’ve lifted these mask mandates is because we gave into this small minority of people who are completely out of their f–king mind who think masks are some sort of prison sentence and their freedoms are being taken away,” he complained on Wednesday’s episode of “The Howard Stern Show.”

Co-host Robin Quivers claimed that the government was “tired of fighting with people who want to get sick and die” of COVID-19, despite the dramatic drop in new cases.

Stern noted that “politicians get scared” when the media focuses “on these battles,” and they become headlines.

“There’s so many wackos. I miss the old Republican Party,” he continued. “It used to be nice to have a two-party system. Now it’s wackos versus, you know, Democrats. The wacko party.”

He went on to bemoan the country’s vaccination rate. “And still to this day, and I hate to say it, only 65 percent of Americans are fully vaccinated, and I can’t help but think the wackos are winning.”

Stern is a staunch supporter of the vaccine and has called for it to become compulsory on one of his past shows.

“When are we going to stop putting up with the idiots in this country and just say, you know, it’s mandatory to get vaccinated?” He said in September. “F–k them, f–k their freedom. I want my freedom to live. I want to get out of the house already. I want to go next door and play chess. I want to go take some pictures.”

He went on to  blame the unvaccinated for prolonging the pandemic months later.

“Believe me, this here is turning into a third-world country because of the f—ing morons we have living here,” Stern remarked in January. “It’s a sad commentary on my country. This is my country. I’ve got too many morons living here. We could be past a lot of this COVID business.”

Never looked to Howard for wisdom, so it’s no surprising that his stance on this issue is the ignorant one. The only thing stopping him from playing chess is his own fear. If vaccines work as originally advertised, he can do what he wants without forcing others to take the jab; if they don’t, then why make them mandatory? Same thing with masks. If he is wearing a N95 mask, he doesn’t have to worry about whether anyone else is wearing one. As the much higher intellect and social commentator, Bugs Bunny, used to say, “what a maroon!”
