Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers will miss Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs after testing positive for COVID-19.

Rodgers had previously told reporters that he was “immunized” and wouldn’t judge his teammates for not getting the jab.

“Yeah, I’ve been immunized,” he said in August. “There’s guys on the team that haven’t been vaccinated. I think it’s a personal decision, I’m not gonna judge those guys.”

But the Packers’ captain has allegedly not been vaccinated, and will be forced to quarantine away from the team for a mandatory 10 days.

“Rodgers previously had sought and was denied an exemption from the NFL-NFLPA COVID-19 protocols based on his antibody levels this summer, which left his status as unvaccinated,” said Around the NFL’s Nick Shook.

“Rodgers received homeopathic treatment from his personal doctor to raise his antibody levels and asked the NFL to review his status,” he continued. “The league pointed Rodgers to the NFL-NFLPA protocols, which do not account for such an exemption for players.”

Packers coach Matt La Fleur refused to comment about whether Rodger’s “immunization” statement was misleading, but did say “everybody has to make their own personal decision,” when he was asked if he thought the choice was selfish.

Rodgers recently revealed that he had been growing out his hair for a John Wick costume, and over the weekend, he wore it to a Halloween party attended by the team.

The party may have been a super spreader event, after backup quarterback Kurt Benkert tested positive for the virus earlier in the week, and Rodgers became the next to fall ill. He was seen in close contact with teammates Randall Cobb, David Bakhtiari, and Marcedes Lewis at the bash.

Jordan Love will step in for Sunday’s game in Kansas City, and former Jacksonville Jaguars star Blake Bortles has been tapped as the backup quarterback.
