Natasha Cloud, a professional basketball player in the WNBA, caused a social media uproar recently by voicing her criticism of the United States, calling the country “trash,” and certain individuals with religious beliefs. This outburst from Cloud followed two recent Supreme Court rulings: one declaring affirmative action in college admissions as unconstitutional, and another asserting that a website designer cannot be forced to create products conflicting with their religious convictions.

Cloud took to Twitter, saying:

“Our country is trash in so many ways and instead of using our resources to make it better we continue to oppress Marginalized groups that we have targeted since the beginning of times.”

“Black/brown communities& LGBTQ+ man we are too powerful to still be attacking issues separate.”

Cloud then criticized law enforcement, demanding an end to police brutality and racially biased mass incarceration. She also advocated for a higher minimum wage and women’s rights, arguing that these issues exemplify the flaws she sees in America, blaming politicians and their divisive ideologies for perpetuating these problems.

Cloud further criticized religious Americans, alleging that religion has been politicized, weaponized, and is characterized by hypocrisy, ultimately resulting in disappointment. She argued that those who profess to follow God lack true love in their lives as they propagate hate and judgment. However, it’s worth noting that despite being a professional athlete who benefits from opportunities in the United States, Cloud appears to harbor negativity and fails to express gratitude to those who have provided her with such opportunities.

“Religion in this country is political, it’s weaponized, it’s hypocritical, it’s disappointing.”

“It’s not love. Because God is love. In the purest form. Take a good hard look at how y’all live your life in a constant state of hate and judgement. Hypocrisy at its finest.”

Cloud criticized the oppression of marginalized groups, including Black/brown communities and the LGBTQ+ community. However, she failed to provide specific details or explanations to support her claims. This is a common trend among leftists who often use such rhetoric as a political slogan without offering substantial evidence or substance.
