“Real Time” host Bill Maher ran circles around Trump hater Rob Reiner, when the “A Few Good Men” director denied that the mainstream media suppressed the Hunter Biden laptop story.
During a recent episode of the HBO talk show, Maher questioned the “All in the Family” actor if it was “Is it okay to have a conspiracy to get rid of Trump?”
The host noted that a podcaster Sam Harris was discussing how the mainstream press has admitted that the Hunter Biden laptop story was real after two years of denial.
“Now look, let’s not pussyfoot around this… he was selling the influence of his father, Joe Biden,” he began as Reiner nodded along. “I mean, most political sons do, but let’s not pretend at least that was going on. I mean some guy from China, after a dinner, gave him an $80,000 diamond … as one does.”
“So Hunter Biden’s laptop was buried by the press,” he continued. “Even the head of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, said that was a mistake,” Maher continued.
“So Sam Harris says it was appropriate for Twitter, and the heads of big tech, and the heads of journalistic organizations to feel that they were in the presence of something that is a once-in-a-lifetime moral emergency, meaning Trump,” Maher added. “So he’s saying it’s okay to have a conspiracy, to get rid of somebody as bad as Trump.”
He noted that “it’s a little bit of a thorny question,” because the United States is so divisive, that “the other side is so evil, anything is justified in preventing them from taking office.”
When Maher stated that the woke media “buried” the story prior to the election, Reiner snarked back, “And we know for a fact that that’s what they did?”
Of course! You don’t follow this?” Maher exclaimed incredulously.
“I don’t know what they did,” Reiner maintained
“I know because you only watch MSNBC,” Maher said to audience applause.
