Punk rock legend Johnny Rotten slammed wokeness in a recent interview with the Times UK.
Rotten even went on to blame it for the ‘collapse’ of the US.
As The New York Post reports:
In a recent profile with the Times UK, the aging punk rocker decried “cancel culture” and the activists who campaigned to tear down national monuments which they say promote historical racism. The statues include that of Winston Churchill, one of the UK’s most revered prime ministers.
He also blamed academia as well as the media for giving “the space” to “tempestuous spoilt children.”
“These people aren’t really genuinely disenfranchised at all,” said Lydon, 65. “They just view themselves as special. It’s selfishness and in that respect, it’s divisive and can only lead to trouble,” he said…
Now a US citizen, Lydon has increasingly shown support for President Trump since 2017, and expressed criticism of the media’s rumored liberal bias. He told the Times that President Joe Biden “doesn’t respect anything but the latest woke fashion trend,” and has catalyzed America’s “collapse.”

I totally agree with Mr. Rotten. “They just view themselves as special.” Again, I agree with him. The only time I cheer is when these “special” people go after the liberal mainstream media.
Wow…. This guy seems to be rather reasonable, and he is thinking for himself…. Oh, that’s right, he’s over 30 and not a condemned-o-crat…. Calls it like he sees it, and I have to agree with him on most of what he said here.

He is exactly right! Wokeness is dividing an destroying America. The ones who can still think for themselves and not like a herd of sheep who blindly follow the crowd, seem to be the only ones who can see it.

This isn’t as surprising as it seems. Lydon (Rotten’s real name) has indicated before that he didn’t go along with the knee-jerk leftism of the entertainment industry. All it takes is someone capable of thinking for themselves instead of following the herd.
I think Johnny Rotten is like a lot of us from the 60’s – 70’s and 80’s who considered ourselves – “Liberals”. We were NOTHING like the so called – self proclaimed “Liberals” of today. Words are constantly being redefined – “Justice” now means whatever they want and nothing else – “Equality” now means “Preference” – “Tolerance” means you will tolerate whatever they do?
Mr. Rotten is absolutely CORRECT! Thanks to a public school system that has made idiots of our children and to the super Rich, the Tech Kings leftists who now need lots of peasants to follow so they’re taking advantage of those idiots! Thank God for the 2nd Amendment!

I agree with most of what Mr. Rotten has to say regarding those who make up and enforce the “cancel culture”. However, I don’t think they truly believe they are special–that’s only the thin veneer that covers their massive insecurities and lack of self esteem. They are truly pathetic and the unhappiest people I’ve ever come across. In their juvenile attempts to build stature among their colleagues so they can feel self-important, they have decided they must tear down and totally destroy everyone and everything that doesn’t conveniently fit into their very narrow and uninformed view of the world. If the rest of us started treating them as they treat us, these poor little feeble dweebs would all run back to their parents’ basements, curl up in the fetal position, stick their thumbs in their mouths and whine about how they’ve been unduly mistreated. Now, don’t you just feel so sorry for them? Not!
