Eminem BANS Ramaswamy From Using His Songs On Campaign Trail

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy recently found himself in the spotlight after rapping the popular Eminem song ‘Lose Yourself’ at a campaign event in Iowa. However, reports now suggest that the original artist has revoked permission for Ramaswamy to use his music.

Eminem’s team sent a cease-and-desist letter to Ramaswamy’s campaign, expressing their objection to the use of Eminem’s songs, particularly his hit “Lose Yourself.” The letter, obtained by , states that Eminem’s music license representative, BMI, has been instructed to remove all of Eminem’s works from their agreement with Ramaswamy’s campaign. According to the letter:

“BMI will consider any performance of the Eminem Works by the Vivek 2024 campaign from this date forward to be a material breach of the Agreement for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies with respect thereto.”

If the Vivek 2024 campaign continues to perform any of Eminem’s works, it would be considered a breach of the agreement, for which BMI reserves all rights and remedies.

The cease-and-desist letter was issued just 11 days after Ramaswamy’s performance of “Lose Yourself” at the Iowa State Fair, where he was asked to name his favorite walkout song by Gov. Kim Reynolds.

In response to the letter, a spokesperson for Ramaswamy’s campaign stated:

“Vivek just got on the stage and cut loose. To the American people’s chagrin, we will have to leave the rapping to the real slim shady.”
