We’re tracking the conservative culture clash with woke Hollywood hypocrites to keep you up to date on who’s winning and who we hate.

Here’s what happened today:

Patriotic Player

Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield honored Ohio native Maxton Soviak, who was one of the 13 U.S. service members killed in an Afghanistan suicide bombing last month.

The NFL star wore custom pregame cleats that featured an image of Soviak in front of an American flag on one shoe, and text that read: “Rest In Peace Navy Corpsman Maxton Soviak” on the other.

Mayfield has a history of showing his respect for the military, during training camp he thanked active duty members who attended a pre-season practice for their service.

Mask-lash

Hollywood hypocrites once again demonstrated that COVID restrictions do not apply to the elite during the 2021 Emmy Awards, where celebrities were recorded during the celebration crowded together without a single person wearing a face covering.

Internet critics were quick to point out that despite filming impassioned social distancing PSAs and using their star power to hold up productions until all crew members get vaccinated, celebrities won’t cover their mugs when they can get face time in front of a camera.

“No masks being worn INSIDE at The Emmys. Call me not shocked, love to preach but not practice what they preach…” One Twitter user snarked.

Actor Seth Rogan, jokingly complained that “There is way too many of us in this little room,” as he presented the show’s first award.

“They said this was outdoors. It’s not. They lied to us. We’re in a hermetically sealed tent right now. I would not have come to this,” he quipped. “I went from wiping my groceries to having Paul Bettany sneeze in my face. That’s a big week.”

One tweeter commented, “Me: why are the emmys in such a small room without masks and no ventilation during a pandemic (30 seconds later) seth rogen: why are we in such a small room without masks and no ventilation during a pandemic.”

The event’s host, Cedric the Entertainer tried to cover for Rogan’s remarks during his opening monologue.

“It actually feels amazing in here unlike what Seth (Rogen) was talking about. It feels good. We’re all vaxxed. We had to get vaxxed to come here. I got vaxxed. I did not have a reaction like Nicki Minaj’s cousin’s friend. I got Pfizer because I’m bougie. Pfizer is the Neiman Marcus of vaccines. Moderna, that’s Macy’s. Johnson & Johnson, that’s TJ Maxx,” he said.

But viewers weren’t convinced by the host’s comedic brush off. “No distancing, no masks. Clearly a slap in the face for all the font line workers that are still dealing with the pandemic,” One furious fan wrote. “Check your privilege @TheEmmys #Emmys.”

Murder

The case of a missing Long Island woman, who went missing while she was on a “van life” road trip across the country with her boyfriend has come to a grisly conclusion.

The FBI confirmed on Sunday that they had found a body at Wyoming national park that alarmingly fits the description of 22-year-old Gabby Petito.

“Earlier today, human remains were discovered consistent with the description of Gabrielle ‘Gabby’ Petito,” announced the FBI’s Charles Jones. “Full forensics identification has not been completed to confirm 100 percent that we found Gabby, but her family has been notified of this discovery.”

Petito went missing last month while she and boyfriend Brian Landrie, 23, were on their trip, and he returned home without her at the beginning of September. Nichole Schmidt, Petito’s mother, reported her missing on September 11.

Police identified Landrie as a person of interest, and he holed up at his parents North Port, Florida home, while they protected him from inquiries by authorities last week. Landrie managed to slip police after going out on a hike at a reserve near his parents home days ago.

Running

Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao announced his candidacy for the President of his native country, the Philippines, at the national convention of the PDP-Laban party on Sunday.

“I am a fighter, and I will always be a fighter inside and outside the ring,” Pacquiao, 42, pledged. “In the name of our countrymen who have long been desiring for the right change in government, I wholeheartedly, bravely, and humbly hope for your support.”

This isn’t the first time Pacquiao has delved into politics, he currently serves as a senator in the Philippines parliament.

College Chants

For the third week in a row, college students have vocalized their displeasure with the current administration by chanting “F–k Joe Biden” at multiple NCAA games on Saturday.

The jeers against the president rang out amongst the crowd as Kentucky defeated Chattanooga 28-23, as Tennessee crushed TN Tech 56-0, and while Wyoming was busy destroying Ball State 45-12.

Intimidation Tactics

Actress Rose McGowan told Tucker Carlson that she believes former movie mogul and current convicted sex offender, Harvey Weinstien, tried to silence her through intimidation before she released her 2018 memoir “Brave,” where she named him as her rapist.

“They were flying drones around my window every day – this is three years before the Weinstein news broke,” McGowan recounted. “I was trailed, almost driven off the road. They stole my headlights out of my car. They placed trackers in my car. I thought I was manifesting everything in my life, turns out my whole house was bugged.”

She even filed a lawsuit against Weinstein and his co-conspirators for spying and smearing her reputation.

“Any time I made a public appearance, I knew people were shadowing me,” she continued. “My then-boyfriend at the time was like ‘I can’t take it. I’m being followed, my car’s broken into.’ And this is three years before the news was breaking but they knew I was writing a book.”
