Monday Update: Prince Harry Bashed For Saying First Amendment Is ‘Bonkers,’ Supermodel Blasted By Israel For Protesting, Bill Gates Acknowledges Affair, Ted Cruz Snipes Back At Seth Rogan

Bashing the First Amendment

Prince Harry sparked instant backlash for calling the First Amendment “bonkers” in an interview. “I’ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers,” he said. 

“I don’t want to start going down the First Amendment route because that’s a huge subject and one which I don’t understand because I’ve only been here a short time, but you can find a loophole in anything. You can capitalize or exploit what’s not said rather than uphold what is said.”

Americans were not amused by the British royal bashing the founding principle of our nation. Fox News’ Laura Ingraham commented, “Don’t let the doorknob hit you, Windsor.” Texas congressman Dan Crenshaw wrote, “Well I just doubled the size of my Independence Day party.”

“Sunday riddle: How many more Hollywood-style interviews will Prince Harry and Meghan Markle give before they finally achieve the privacy they claim to be so desperate for,” Candace Owens replied in a mic-dropping statement.  

Cruz Feud

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz’s team fired back after actor Seth Rogan said he was a “fascist” to Stephen Colbert. 

“Ted Cruz is a fascist. He denies the reality of the election. His words caused people to die and I’m making jokes about it. Is that a feud? I don’t know. To me, it doesn’t seem like a feud. To me, it seems I’m pointing out the fact that he’s a terrible man whose words have resulted in death,” Rogan said on “The Late Show” Thursday night.  

“We know Sen. Cruz is busy fighting to save the country from Biden’s disastrous policies. It’s surprising to see that he’s living rent-free in Seth Rogen’s head at the same time,” a Cruz spokesperson said on Friday.

Model Protest

The state of Israel blasted supermodel Bella Hadid for marching in support of Palestinians over the weekend while wearing full traditional garb. “When celebrities like @BellaHadid advocate for throwing Jews into the sea, they are advocating for the elimination of the Jewish State,” Israel tweeted. “This shouldn’t be an Israeli-Palestinian issue. This should be a human issue. Shame on you.”

Hadid is of Palestinian descent on her father’s side.  “I love my family, I love my Heritage, I love Palestine. I will stand strong to keep their hope for a better land in my heart. A better world for our people and the people around them. They can never erase our history. History is history!” She posted to Instagram.

Microsoft Affair

Microsoft founder Bill Gates allegedly had a years-long affair with a company employee. “Microsoft received a concern in the latter half of 2019 that Bill Gates sought to initiate an intimate relationship with a company employee in the year 2000,” a spokesperson said. 

The board of directors hired a law firm to investigate the allegation, but Gates stepped down from his position in 2020 before the investigation concluded. Gates’ personal spokeswoman admitted to his indiscretion but denied it was the reason behind his resignation. 

“There was an affair almost 20 years ago which ended amicably,” she commented. “[Gates’] decision to transition off the board was in no way related to this matter. In fact, he had expressed an interest in spending more time on his philanthropy starting several years earlier.”

Unsettling Encounter

“The Good Wife” star Julianna Margulies recalled a “frightening” hotel room incident with actor Steven Seagal when she was starting out in Hollywood. 

Seagal requested she come run a scene with him to secure a part in his upcoming film, and when she arrived at his hotel room, he pulled out a gun. “It was a frightening moment,” Margulies remembered. “I am in an action star’s hotel room with a gun… I had never seen a gun before and he’s six-feet-four and no one knows where I am.”

“He asked me to come into the bedroom because he was tired and he asked to read my palm… He put the gun down – so I was calming down a little bit – and he read my palm, and told me that he was a healer, and told me I had weak kidneys. And I thought, ‘Is this the shtick that works on women?” 

She bolted from the hotel room unscathed and managed to land her first film role in Seagal’s “Out For Justice,” despite the strange encounter.  

Turtle Trouble

YouTuber Jake Paul is being investigated by Puerto Rico for posting a since-deleted video of himself driving a motorized vehicle on the beach during turtle-nesting season.

“Some media have published today a video of the influencer Jake Paul in a motor vehicle on the beach, an activity that is prohibited, apart from law enforcement agencies,” said Secretary of Natural and Environmental Resources Rafael Marchargo. 

“Although the video does not establish where or when it was carried out, the DNER reminds citizens that this type of activity is prohibited by law to protect the environment and the species that can nest or live on the beaches. Those who violate the law face fines and other penalties, if applicable.”
