Nicole Brown Simpson’s Sister Slams Chris Rock For Making A Crack About Her Murder

Comedian Chris Rock referenced the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson in a comedy set, and her sister is furious he joked about her death. 

Rock told a Phoenix audience that he was asked to host the upcoming Oscars, after he was physically attacked by Will Smith during the 2022 awards show for making a crack about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith’s “G.I. Jane” look at the event. 

According to the Arizona Republic, the comedian declined the offer, citing that it would be like asking Brown Simpson “to go back to the restaurant” she left her glasses at prior to her 1994 death. 

“Nothing funny about his joke towards Jada as she suffers from a physical condition and nothing funny about equating an Oscar host invitation to a double homicide,” Tanya Brown responded on Instagram.

Simpson Brown and friend Ron Goldman were stabbed to death at her Brentwood, California home in 1997. Her husband, O.J. Simpson, was accused of double homicide, but controversially acquitted. The murders remain unsolved to date. 

“I always thought he was funny, but he crossed the line with this one,” Tanya said of Rock. “In other words, Y’all!!!! Stop using my sister, OJ and Ron part of your cricking comedy act. There are families behind this tragedy!”

Brown wasn’t the only one offended, social media users were equally incensed by Rock’s insensitivity. “The more Chris Rock talks, the more you begin to see why Will Smith smacked fire outta him,” someone tweeted.

“So he’s using a woman’s misfortune for comedic effect again,” remarked another. “I’m seeing a pattern.”

“Also Chris got slapped, Nicole got decapitated. Great comparison!” one person snarked. 

“He really could have left it at: “I’m not hosting next year,”” said a level headed replier.
