The new ratings for this year’s annual ‘Golden Globes’ award show is out, and they are showing one thing: wokeness just doesn’t pay.
Ratings have absolutely plummeted compared to last year, when the show was hosted by the anti-cancel culture comedian Ricky Gervais.
As The Daily Wire reports:
Despite lockdown measures across the country, the ratings for the woke 2021 Golden Globes couldn’t catch a break: the star-studded event saw a viewership crash of a stunning 64%.
“Just 6.9 million people tuned in to the Golden Globes on Sunday, according to Nielsen ratings,” The Associated Press reported Tuesday, noting that the anemic viewership “barely beat the year when a writer’s strike forced NBC to show a news conference announcing the winners.”
Last year’s award show was notably hosted by politically incorrect comedian and actor Ricky Gervais, who took repeated swipes at Hollywood. The ratings for that show, with 18.4 million viewers, more than doubled the 2021 show, co-hosted by the woke Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.
