The Taliban insurgents that took over Kabul’s presidential palace in Afghanistan discovered the fully stocked weight room and had no idea how to use it.
A viral Twitter video shows the forces responsible for ousting Afghan President Ashraf Ghani from the country over the weekend were completely baffled by the palace’s gym equipment.
The video begins with literal lat fail when a Taliban fighter attempts to pull down on the lateral machine from a squatted position and is dragged up and off the machine because the weight was clearly too much for him to lift.
The camera pans to a stationary bike, where the resistance proves to be set too high for the insurgent attempting to ride it to manage more than a single feeble pedal before he dismounts in defeat.
Another terrorist films a compatriot gleefully getting a hang of using the elliptical machine… Which he runs on in the wrong direction.
In a quick cut, a fighter poorly attempts to curl a bicep bar with terrible form, and swings into the worst shoulder press possible with a backward grip.
On a different piece of equipment, an insurgent uses both his legs and arms to perform an awful leg extension, while another almost manages to figure out how to do a chest fly.

Critics were quick to mock their horrendous workout attempt. “How did two superpowers lose to this?” asked one replier.
“If they figure out how to use that lat pulldown machine the West is finished,” a tweeter jeered.
“This is one of the best comedy videos i’ve seen this year,” said another.
One user thought the gym might be the key to peace in the region. “This is what has been missing. Now that they have a gym, they can properly stress relieve and let out any aggression safely under a barbell,” they posted. “I can’t believe we didn’t think of this sooner.”

The US lost, because the Taliban live where they fight all of their lives, 24×7. American forces just visit. In most contacts, the Taliban will lose the fight, but at the end of the day they will still be there. The only way to win is to colonize the place the way the Chinese are doing in Tibet and displace the existing population.

Perhaps our concern about abandoning all that sophisticated military hardware is not warranted. From reports such as this, these goons might have trouble figuring out how to operate a wheelbarrow.
