The granddaughter of iconic musician Nina Simone says that Vice President Kamala Harris is the reason her family has no rights to her grandmother’s estate, which is now run by “white people.”
“Nina’s granddaughter here,” ReAnna Simone Kelly posted in a lengthy Twitter thread on Saturday. “My family doesn’t run her estate anymore. It was taken away from us [and] given to white people.”
“Our family name was DRAGGED in the media. We get NO royalties, nothing,” she continued. “Wanna hold someone accountable? Ask Kamala Harris why she came for my family.”
Harris was the California Attorney General in charge of a 2013 legal battle with Simone’s daughter Lisa Simone Kelly over mismanagement of the late singer’s estate and charitable trust.
“Ask her why she separated my family. Ask her why my grandmother’s estate is in SHAMBLES now,” she went on. “Ask her why we as her family no longer own the rights to anything. Ask her why she bullied my mother in court and my mom almost killed herself from the depression.”
In the 2016 settlement, then AG Harris charged Kelly with nearly six million in surcharges and more than $2.5 million in interest for funneling trust money into her personal company. Kelly also agreed to relinquish her title as estate administrator and the rights to Simone’s music.

Singer John Legend covered Simone’s classic “Feeling Good” during Joe Biden’s Presidential Inauguration. “She knew what she was doing,” Simone Kelly concluded.

I can be sympathetic with the heirs of Nina Kelly the Singer who is now deceased. I went through basically the same thing. I got nothing and the Attorney got everything.. I was to co-execute but he even managed to get that changed so that he and he alone was in charge by having her sign a document when she was so demented she did not know who she was… I did the only thing I knew to do. I drew up a Caveat that stopped him from probating the will and to this day 20 years later the State of PA has control of the estate–wink, wink. as I will not sign off on the caveat. I also turned him into the PA Bar. We all know how the Presidential vote went in the Corrupt state of PA so it is doubtful any of our family will ever see anything of my Mother’s estate. I suggest the family of Nina Kelly go after Harris because she may be finished politically after the fraudulent voting has been exposed and may not find herself in politics after the Border fiasco and her dereliction of duty to do the job Joe Biden gave to her.

This is a totally racist article. The constant use of referring to the people who now run the estate as “white people” just showed her disdain for none black people. If she has a problem with the VP it should not be based on the people who now run it but on the VP and the racist remarks she is putting forward.
