Through spectacle and bombast, Oliver suggests, the new president drafted his own self-fulfilling prophecy: Act important, be important. If this life advice sounds familiar, that’s because it’s straight from the self-help section, via Oprah’s promotion: “It’s like The Secret was real, and it worked for one person,” Oliver joked with Seth Meyers on Late Night.

“Unfortunately, it was him.” The Last Week Tonight host’s hot take is that Trump’s rise to power is Oprah’s fault: Share The Secret with the world, and it’s bound to get into the wrong hands.
