The unfortunate Achilles injury of Aaron Rodgers has become one of the biggest talking points of the NFL season. However, it wasn’t just the injury that made headlines. Keith Olbermann, known for his stints at ESPN and MSNBC, couldn’t resist connecting Rodgers’ vocal opposition to COVID-19 vaccinations to his injury. Posting on X (the platform that succeeded Twitter), Olbermann quipped, “Another #SuddenLisfranc due to failure to vaccinate,” accompanied by a series of syringe emojis.

During his first interview post-injury on “The Pat McAfee Show,” Rodgers was made aware of these remarks. The NFL star, known for his prowess on the field and his four-time MVP status, responded with a touch of humor, advising Olbermann, “Get your fifth booster, Keith.”

It’s no secret that Rodgers hasn’t shied away from sharing his stance on COVID-19 vaccinations. He even cheekily used the hashtag “#NovaxDjokovic” next to a goat emoji on an Instagram story during the U.S. Open, seemingly in support of Novak Djokovic.
Switching gears to his on-field performance, Rodgers’ tenure as a New York Jet was tragically short-lived. The quarterback suffered his Achilles injury during only his fourth play with the team and without even completing a pass. It’s a sharp turn from his remarkable 18-year run with the Green Bay Packers.
Reflecting on the unfortunate turn of events, Rodgers expressed his deep sadness but also mentioned that he has begun his journey towards recovery.
