Producer Creates Christmas Miracle

Producer Tyler Perry recently paid off over $400 thousand worth of layaways in order to make Christmas a little easier on the shoppers.

According to Page Six:

The “Madea” creator shelled out more than $400,000 to pay for all the layaway items at one of the retail giant’s locations in East Point and another in Douglasville, according to local station WSB-TV 2.

He intended to keep the generous donation under wraps — but made the announcement in a Twitter video Thursday after the word quickly spread.

“I know it’s hard times, everyone’s struggling and I’m just really, really grateful to be able to be in a position to do this,” Perry said in the video. “So, God bless you, go get your stuff. Merry Christmas!”

Anyone who had items on layaway before 9:30 a.m. Thursday is covered — and will only need to pay one penny to retrieve their items, Perry said.

The act of kindness took place at two Atlanta area Walmarts. The producer is in the midst of a lucrative deal that runs through 2024.
