Controversial rapper DaBaby shot a man trespassing outside of his North Carolina mansion last week.

“The Troutman Police Department responded to a report of a shooting at 135 Stillwater Road. Officers arrived on scene where they found one subject suffering from a non-life threatening gunshot wound,” the department announced in a statement.

They noted that the suspect was taken to a local medical facility for treatment, but would not say if DaBaby, real name Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, was home at the time.

“Due to the ongoing and continuing nature of this investigation, no information as to the names of those involved or the circumstances can be released at this time,” the post concluded.

The intruder, 26, reportedly hopped a fence surrounding the $2.3 million compound and was calling out for the “Rockstar” rapper, who was in fact home and shot him in the leg. Kirk then called 911 and spoke to a dispatcher while the injured man screamed in the background.

“I shot him in his leg,” he could be heard saying in 911 audio tapes. “He’s trespassing on my property and called me by my name.”

When asked if he was bleeding, Kirk replied, “I’ve got to say yes, bro.” The dispatcher asked if the man was “completely alert” the rapper remarked, “Do you not hear this man, bro,” in reference to the screaming.

The dispatcher then instructed DaBaby to secure his weapon, but he refused. “I’m not putting it down,” he said. “I need to make sure there’s nobody with him that’s sneaking up on me.”

Kirk commented on the incident in an Instagram post over the weekend, and even wished the man he shot a speedy recovery.

“Chose not to take a n***a life the other day & it felt great,” he wrote. “Buddy ain’t deserve to go, I step righteously. Heal up & live my boy! Just don’t bring ya a– back”
