NBA Star Catches Rioter Destroying His Car, Acts Swiftly

NBA Star J.R. Smith caught a vandal smashing his car during the Los Angeles protests and took swift action.

Once Smith, 34, saw the man breaking the window on his truck he chased him down and “whooped his a**”.

Once Smith caught up to the assailant, he put him to the ground and kicked him in the head. The man got up off the ground and Smith laid a right hook to the man’s left cheek before two other men pulled J.R. Smith away from the assailant.

The incident was caught on film:

Smith explained the incident on his Twitter account (warning: language):

Smith who was the 2013 NBA Sixth Man of the year won an NBA Championship alongside Lebron James with the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2016. He is currently a free agent.

Good for JR! If the cops aren’t allowed to do their jobs, then it falls to ordinary citizens to do it for them. This is what happens when a society is allowed to descend into chaos. Shame on our big-city leaders!

Smith was part of the rioting, when he caught this guy doinghis truck.

Bull! He was reacting to the rioting, protecting his property. We all have that right to property, ever since before theDeclaration of Independence/Constitution. No one has ever had the right to riot and destroy another’s property. Protest the murder of Floyd by four individual rogue policemen. But do not violently riot. Listen to the family of Mr. Floyd.

No, he parked his truck on an urban areas, he thought was safe from the riots, then went to participate in the riot himself.

The rest of the story is, Smith had parked his truck in a neighborhood, away from where the protesting took place, and walk to where it was going on, so he could participate. Then, he spies this guy working on his truck. So, Smith was part of the problem himself, but didn’t want people messing with his stuff, just other people’s stuff.

Breaking a window, IS NOT the same as “SMASHING HIS TRUCK”.
After thumping the fool, the fool was allowed to run away and THEN the 2 friends came up.
FAKENEWS HEADLINE!!!

Did you know there is a difference in peaceful protest and vandalism? There was nothing wrong with Smith joining the protest. That is his right. The thug he took out was not protesting, he was committing a crime. What Smith did was also his right to protect his property.

Yeah right. “Joining the protest” at this point just makes this prick part of the problem. Good luck getting an NBA contract after this stunt.

HE SHU NUF WHUPED HIS ASS,TO BAD HE DID NOT MENTION THE FACT THAT MANY MANY OF HIS PEOPLE WERE DOING THE SAME THING THE WHITE BOY DID TO HIS TRUCK,BUT NOBODY DID ANYTHING TO STOP THEM. NO CELEBRITIES,WHO LIVED IN MANSIONS CAME OUT TO TELL THEM ,BOTH WHITE AND BLACK THAT WHAT THEY WERE DOING WAS WRONG, EVEN THE POLITICIANS MADE THE POLICE ABANDON THEIR CARS WHICH WERE DESTROYED,AND MADE THE POLICE RETREAT LIKE SCARED BOYS,WHAT A SHAME THAT MEN WHO TOOK AN OATH TO SAFEGUARD THE PUBLIC,NEVER FOLLOWED THROUGH. THEY SHOULD HAVE SHOT EVERY ONE THAT WERE DESTROYING THEIR AUTOS AND STEALING FROM STORES,AND RIOTING,THAT WAY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO IDENTIFY THE REAL PERPS,NOW EVERYONE GETS AWAY SCOTT FREE,JUSTICE IS NOT ONLY BLIND BUT DISGRACEFUL. PEOPLE,YOU BETTER GET TO THE POLLS AND VOTE IN DECENT PEOPLE TO RUN YOUR CITIES AND STATES ,OTHERWISE YOU MAY HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO LIVE!

thank you; cant teach them nothing no more they know they can do it; and people say well; i dont like the idea they were able to burn down homes with people in them; they should be charged with murder; and sentence to death; and not next week; now so everyone can see it today; just like they use to do; that was the law; then why not now; nope we have cowards today;

This vandal and grand theft wannabe got away. His only punishment were a few bruises. So not the best of outcomes.

I think there should be paint projectile developed that would allow the police to use them when looting and burning happens. Once hit with the paint pellet, the stuff will not come off for 6 months.

It is my opinion that the police must do their jobs and if that means blocking off the streets to corral the looters from leaving and then putting all of them in detention/jail then it must be done. As long as the news media is allowed to glorify these thugs /looters and nobody does anything it will continue and escalate. I do not advocate the use of any military but they can be used to form the barrier and let the cops move in in an overwhelming force.

Yeah I was okay with it until he had to say “white boy” if that would have been a white person saying black boy it would have been racist. This NBA player is a racist by any standard but again it’s always okay when they do it.

Just maybe these two guys could be on the same team! I have no background or facts to make a judgment about this incident but we are all Americans that need to talk about solutions and find a path to recovery and heel these wounds ! Continued looting and destruction is counterproductive to our American way of life ! A criminal act by law enforcement doesn’t justify criminal acts by others! God loves us all but he punishes those that are evil at some point! Please stop this nonsense!

Probably would have been better if he took the kid over to a cop told him he would be in later to file a complaint. The kid would have made the news looking really stupid after wrecking a blackmans truck and a good message to others. Ordered to pay for the repairs and if I were the judge restitution for time loss to get it repaired. Big bucks JR’s time.

I understand J.R. Smith’s response but if that were a police officer who just got hit in the head with a brick and did that, the officer would be criminally charges and fired. The moral of the story – police get angry but the public thinks they’re to act like robots with no emotion.
