Convicted swindler Anna Sorokin is “happy to hear” that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is enjoying her Netflix hit “Inventing Anna,” and pondered if her stay of deportation is a result of having a powerful fan in the Biden administration.

The bizarre exchange began on Tuesday, when former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that she had contracted mild COVID-19, and made a request for movie recommendations.

Psaki, who tested positive for the virus and will be skipping President Biden’s emergency NATO trip to Europe, endorsed “Inventing Anna” as her go-to quarantine show.

“Well, I’ve tested positive for COVID. I’ve got some mild cold symptoms but am feeling fine. Bill tested negative and is feeling fine. He’s quarantining until our household is fully in the clear,” Clinton tweeted. “Movie recommendations appreciated!”

“Finally watching Inventing Anna (and recommend!),” Psaki replied. “And highly recommend lots of water, tea and juice.”

“Thank you for the tips, Jen—and hope you feel better soon!” Clinton wrote back.

The high-profile exchange made back to Sorokin, who is currently being held in the custody of ICE, while she awaits deportation to Germany for overstaying her visa.

“BTW Jen Psaki just said on Twitter that she’s watching Inventing Anna and recommended it to Hillary Clinton,” Sorokin said excitedly. “[I’m] happy to hear that Jen Psaki is enjoying me during her ‘Netflix and quarantine’ time out. Also just got a stay from ICE and wondering if the two are somehow connected.”

Sorokin, 31, was accused of scamming $200,000 from New York businesses and financial institutions, after convincing friends that she was a foreign heiress to a $67 million fortune. Her story has been adapted into the Netflix hit docuseries “Inventing Anna.”

Sorokin was convicted on multiple counts of fraud in 2019 and subsequently sentenced 4 to 12 years in prison, but was released early for good behavior in February 2021. Less than a month later she was scooped up by ICE and has remained in their custody, while awaiting deportation in an Upstate New York detention facility.
